Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour & Employment, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, today addressed a press conference regarding the 'Sardar@150 Unity March’ to be organized in Bengaluru on November 15th in commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Addressing the media, the Minister stated that this campaign aims to awaken national pride and deliver the message of unity to the people. She added that the Unity March will introduce the next generation to the freedom fighters and the hardships they endured besides making an effort to remember them.

The Unity March will be held in Bengaluru on November 15th, from 9 AM, staring from Kurubara Halli in Mahalaxmi Layout and concluding at Shankaramath. She emphasized, "This is not a political march; it is a march of the country, a march of the people, and hence everyone must participate in this march." Sardar Patel had an unwavering belief that "India is one, India is indivisible" and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is carrying forward this belief through 'Viksit Bharat 2047', she added.

She also mentioned that the campaign was inaugurated at the national level by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on October 6th. Young people are actively participating in the digital sphere through reel competitions and essay writing with respect to their activities. She highlighted that the 'My Bharat' portal is the single platform for sharing all such activities. The second and crucial phase of the campaign, the district-level march, will be held from October 31st to November 25th. Three marches, each covering a distance of 8 to 10 kilometers, will be organized in every Lok Sabha constituency.

Prior to the march, activities are being organized in schools and colleges as part of the campaign.Activities include essay competitions and debate competitions for students, the Youth Pledge for Nasha Mukt Bharat, Swadeshi Melas, the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign for environmental protection. Additionally, street plays on the life of Sardar Patel are being staged in places where youth gather, such as malls, parks, and food centers.

During this time, awareness will be created about the welfare schemes of the government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to build a Viksit Bharat. My Bharat, NCC Cadets, NSS Volunteers, social and religious organizations, as well as schools and colleges will also be involved. She concluded by saying that just as Patel unified the princely states of the country, this march will unite the hearts of our people. It will reflect our cultural pride and the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Through this, it is our duty and our dharma to transform the dream of a united India into an Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat, she said. She urged everyone to participate in the Unity March organized in the region and spread the message of unity everywhere.
