The 2nd RRU International Moot Court Competition 2025 to be hosted at Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar on 14th -16th November

The School of Criminal Law and Military Law (SCLML) at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU)—an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India—is proud to announce the 2nd RRU International Moot Court Competition, 2025, scheduled from 14th to 16th November 2025 at the RRU Lavad campus.
Building on the resounding success of its inaugural edition in 2024, this prestigious international moot brings together brilliant young legal minds from across the world to deliberate and advocate on the theme:
“International Law and Global Security.”
The competition will simulate proceedings before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), offering participants an intellectually challenging platform to argue complex legal issues such as:
● Admissibility of claims when a State represents corporations before the ICJ
● Remedies for sanctioned third-country entities under international law
● Trade of dual-use items under international law
● Non-compliance with judgments of international courts
The teams, including representatives from leading international universities across multiple UN regions, there will be 42 Judges, 24 teams, 72 participants, and 12 coaches participating. International students from Utopia, Nepal, and Bangladesh will also be participating during the event. The event aims to foster cross-border dialogues on contemporary issues that are related to global security, promote the study of international law, and strengthen cooperation among law students worldwide for enhancing global peace through law.
The inauguration ceremony will be graced by eminent dignitaries from judiciary, legal academicians and practitioners of international law. The three-day event will also feature keynote addresses and expert panel discussions led by distinguished judges, diplomats, and academicians, including members of the United Nations International Law Commission and the Indian Judiciary.
Awards and Recognition
Participants will compete for prestigious titles and attractive prizes:
Winner: ₹90,000
Runner-Up: ₹70,000
Best Speaker: ₹40,000
Best Memorial: ₹50,000
In a unique initiative to encourage global inclusivity, the competition also offers scholarships worth USD 1000 each to the top eight international teams.
The event is a testament to RRU’s mission to cultivate legal professionals who embody analytical acumen, advocacy excellence, and a commitment to advancing both national and global security.
