Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), today inaugurated the STPI Pavilion at the Bengaluru Tech Summit organized by STPI. Shri K.K. Singh, Joint Secretary of MeitY was present on the occasion.

Speaking to the media afterwards, Shri Arvind Kumar stated that 150 startups are showcasing their products and services at the Bengaluru Tech Summit. He informed that STPI will be organizing the Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit in Delhi from February 16 to 28, 2026. This will be the fourth event in the AI series, with the first three having taken place in the UK, Seoul, and Paris.

Discussing the export of Information Technology and software services, he noted that India’s current export value stands at ₹20.18 lakh crore. Karnataka's contribution to this is ₹9.21 lakh crore, accounting for 42% of the country's total exports. STPI expects a growth of 7-8% in the next five years, driven by AI-based products.

STPI is supporting 1500 startups across the country and has created a networking platform 'SAGE' for investors, startups, and partners. He emphasized that AI will play a role in improving sectors like education, agriculture, health technology, climate change and the electric grid. Currently, STPI is focusing on tier-two and tier-three cities and he praised the increasing number of women entrepreneurs in this field.

Subsequently, an awards ceremony was held where companies that performed exceptionally well in the IT sector were honoured. A total of 27 companies were recognized with awards across 15 different categories.
