The Branch Secretariat, Ministry of External Affairs, Chennai, organized a Public Diplomacy Outreach Event for consulates based in Chennai at the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gingee Fort. The event saw participation from the Consulates of Australia, Sri Lanka, Taipei, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan.

  

          The event was organized in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey    of  India (ASI), Ministry of Culture, Government of India. During the visit, ASI highlighted its initiatives, including the Adopt a Heritage Monument program, aimed at promoting conservation, awareness, and sustainable engagement with India’s rich cultural heritage.

  

          The outreach event provided an opportunity for international delegates to experience firsthand the historical significance and cultural heritage of Gingee Fort, reinforcing India’s commitment to heritage preservation and international cultural diplomacy.
