The Valedictory Ceremony of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025, a key initiative aimed at promoting local sporting talent and physical fitness among the youth in the Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency, was held today at Bengaluru. The ceremony was inaugurated by Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Labour & Employment.

Addressing the event, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje stated that sports should be embraced alongside studies, as a grand India can be built only if both the mind and body are kept strong. She noted that India is hosting the Olympics in 2036. "Our resolve is that our children should participate and emerge victorious in the Olympic Games to be hosted after ten years," she said.

She mentioned that the Sansad Khel Mahotsav is being organized nationwide to prepare our children for the Olympics. She urged parents, coaches and institutions to encourage children to participate in future Olympic Games, and expressed the resolve that India must be among the top ten countries in the Olympic medal tally.

Former Chief Minister and former Union Minister Shri D.V. Sadananda Gowda said that the Sansad Khel Mahotsav should be organized in all constituencies and should become a platform that provides opportunities to all young men and women of the country. He emphasized the need to send an emotional message to future sportspersons and achievers through these events. He stated that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has a vision for the development of all sectors in the country. While India was lagging in the sports sector, the government under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has succeeded in promoting sportspersons and achieving progress in the field of sports over the last ten years through Khelo India. He stressed that various platforms like the Sansad Khel Mahotsav must be created to boost enthusiasm in sports and provide encouragement. He called upon the youth to emerge as successful sportspersons in the future and hoist the glorious Indian flag in the sports field. He also mentioned that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has already formulated several schemes to ensure India wins more medals in the upcoming Olympic Games.

Speaking at the event, Shri Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament for the Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency, announced that inspired by the Sansad Khel Mahotsav, the event will also be organized in the Bengaluru South constituency. He said that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has instructed all Members of Parliament to organize the Sansad Khel Mahotsav with the objective of cultivating a sportsmanship spirit among the athletes and youth, and keeping them physically fit. He encouraged the youth by saying that life lessons that cannot be learned from school or books are gained through sports. Teamwork, hard work, and discipline—all these values can be acquired through sports. Therefore, he urged the youth to engage in sports for some time every day.
The program began with a performance of Yakshagana and Bharatanatyam by the Yaksha Degula team and a Yoga demonstration by Dirghayu Yoga Samsthe. All achievers in cinema, sports, and other fields were felicitated. During the event, awards were presented to the victorious athletes from the eight fields in which the Sansad Khel Mahotsav was organized.

Mohan, Member of Parliament for Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency; Shri Lehar Singh Siroya, Member of the Rajya Sabha; Shri Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council; Shri B.A. Basavaraju, MLA and Former Minister; and Dr. S.V.
