100% resolution of farmers' complaints regarding PMFBY in Maharashtra
Over 3 Crore Farmers in Maharashtra Benefit from PMFBY and RWBCIS, Claims amounting to more than ₹26,000 Crore paid

All farmer complaints related to the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in Maharashtra have been fully resolved.
A majority of crop insurance claims are settled within the stipulated 21 days after the receipt of requisite yield data from the State Government. While the scheme has been largely effective, some complaints had been received in the past regarding delays or discrepancies in claim payments. These issues mainly stemmed from delays in the State Government’s release of its subsidy share, incorrect or delayed submission of insurance proposals by banks, and disputes arising from yield data discrepancies between the State Government and insurance companies. The pending claims tied to such issues are settled as soon as these matters are resolved, in line with scheme provisions.
The details of complaints and grievances related to the implementation of PMFBY registered on the Krishi Rakshak Portal and Helpline (KRPH), along with their resolution status in Maharashtra from January to November, 2025 (as per data received till November 27, 2025) are as follows:

As per the PMFBY operational guidelines, if the insurance company does not make the payment on time, a penalty of 12% is automatically calculated and levied through the National Crop Insurance Portal (NCIP) from Kharif 2024 onwards, he also mentioned in the reply.
