प्रविष्टि तिथि: 10 DEC 2025 5:49PM by PIB Chennai

India will co-host the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in New Delhi from 17-19 December, 2025, in collaboration with the World Health Organization. The Summit will convene global leaders, policymakers, and experts to deliberate on future strategies, innovation, and evidence-based practices in traditional medicine.

A Curtain Raiser Programme was organized by the Ministry of Ayush on December 8, 2025, chaired by Union Minister of Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav. In his address, the Minister highlighted India’s emerging leadership in the sector and emphasized the critical role of national research institutions in enhancing global cooperation and scientific credibility.

Underscoring this commitment to scientific infrastructure is the Captain Srinivasa Murthy Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Arumbakkam, Chennai. Functioning under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, this NABL-accredited institute serves as a pivotal hub for drug standardization, pharmacognosy, and pharmacological research. As a licensed Drug Testing Laboratory for Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani medicines equipped with a CCSEA-approved animal house, the institute exemplifies the robust framework supporting India's vision for standardized traditional healthcare.
