As part of the pre-event activities for Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0, the National Service Scheme (NSS), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) organised a street play at Assi Ghat to promote cultural awareness, linguistic exchange and public participation in the programme scheduled to begin on 2nd December 2025.

Staged by NSS volunteers, the street play highlighted the cultural unity between Kashi and Tamil Nadu through dialogue, expressive performances and interactive storytelling. The presentation emphasized the shared civilizational traditions of the two regions, particularly their historical and devotional links to Lord Shiva, and underscored the importance of strengthening national unity through mutual understanding.

The performance also reflected the 2025 theme “Tamil Karkalam - Let Us Learn Tamil,” encouraging young people and local residents to engage with the Tamil language and participate actively in cultural exchange initiatives.

A gathering of local residents, tourists and morning walkers assembled at Assi Ghat to witness the presentation. The audience responded positively, appreciating the informative and engaging portrayal.

These initiatives are contributing to enhanced awareness and enthusiasm across Varanasi for the upcoming programme.
