Today Manipur, pay homage to the Mothers of Nupilal. As part of the observation, the Government of Manipur organized a State level Nupi Lal observation at GP Women’s College, Imphal today.

Speaking on the observation function Chief Secretary of Manipur Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel remembered and reiterated that Nupi Lal was not just a movement of empowerment but asserts the  role of woman in our political, socio economic and cultural life in our life. He said that Manipur woman are an inspiration of change in every field carrying the testament of Nupi Lal. He further added that the historical courage and resilience of Manipuri women, particularly referencing the Nupilal movement, which was a pivotal moment of protest and empowerment against injustice that threatened their dignity and welfare. He said that this legacy continues today, with Manipuri women leading change across various fields, inspiring younger generations, and demonstrating their strength, notably through the all-women-led Ema markets. Chief Secretary emphasizes that national and state policies provide strong support for women's safety, dignity, education, and economic independence. He mentioned key initiatives of the government offering emergency assistance, legal aid, helplines, childcare, skill development, and support for self-help groups)and reforms like Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan and reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies, marking a significant step towards women-led development. He continued that further support comes from schemes like Lakhpati Didi initiatives to promote financial independence, and campaigns such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to advance the rights, education, and welfare of the girl child and increase women's participation in education, entrepreneurship, and public service.

A Nupilal drama (stage play) was performed at the fuction. The function was attended by civil and police officers of Government of Manipur and central offices along with students and representatives of various organizations.
