Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Sood, Director, NIFT Campus Gandhinagar, announced that the admission process for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination 2026 has officially begun. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration window for NIFTEE 2026 from 08 December 2025, inviting applications for all programmes across the 20 NIFT campuses in India.

Candidates aspiring for admission in the academic session 2026-27 can register online through the official portal exams.nta.nic.in/niftee. The last date to apply without late fee is 06 January 2026, while applicants may submit forms until 10 January 2026 with a late fee of ₹5,000. A correction window will be available from 12–14 January 2026.

Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Sood informed that the entrance examination will be conducted on 08 February 2026 (Sunday) across more than 100 cities in both Computer-Based (CBT) and Pen-and-Paper (PBT) modes. The test structure includes the General Ability Test (GAT), Creative Ability Test (CAT), Situation Test for B.Des candidates, and Personal Interview (PI) for most postgraduate programmes. Ph.D. aspirants will additionally undergo a written test followed by a Research Proposal Presentation and Interview.

Admissions are open for Bachelor of Design (B.Des.), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (M.Des.), Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), NIFT Lateral Entry Admissions (NLEA), Artisans Category seats, and Ph.D. programmes.

Eligibility criteria vary by course. For undergraduate programmes, candidates must have passed or be appearing for the Class 12 examination from a recognized board. For postgraduate programmes, applicants must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree, and there is no upper age limit.
