The 68th DRDO Foundation Day was celebrated at CVRDE, Avadi on 01 January 2026. Shri J Rajeshkumar, Outstanding Scientist & Director, CVRDE along with Senior Scientists / Officers paid floral tributes to the Former President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Bust and attended the DRDO Foundation Day Celebration with his august presence.

 

In the keynote address, the Director, CVRDE extended his warm wishes to CVRDE fraternity for the successful new year ahead and commemorated the previous year’s scientific excellence in development of Systems / Sub – Systems / Components of AFV’s at CVRDE. He also appreciated the project team members for successfully accomplishing the trial activities in the desert terrain & high altitude conditions and requested to carry forward these collective efforts for meeting the forthcoming project goals.

Later in the afternoon session, Secretary DD R&D and Chairman, DRDO Dr Samir V Kamat, addressed the DRDO fraternity at D S Kothari Auditorium, New Delhi, which was live streamed at Arjun Auditorium of CVRDE, Avadi

Addressing the gathering, Secy DD R&D and Chairman DRDO extended his greetings and recalled the contributions of DRDO products during Operation Sindoor. The Chairman DRDO also highlighted the DRDO major achievements in the year 2025 and remarked that the year 2025 was excellent in the context of promoting Defence R&D in the country. Further, he stated that the DRDO labs should focus to accelerate the niche technologies in collaboration with academia, Industries & Startups, to transfer the research into deployable systems for meeting the country’s futuristic challenges and User’s Satisfaction.

The Event was Jointly organized by CVRDE Celebration Committee and 22nd Works Committee.
