ESIC Sub-Regional Office Gurugram Organizes Hindi Workshop, Seminar, and Kavi Sammelan on World Hindi Day

On the occasion of World Hindi Day 2026, the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Sub-Regional Office, Gurugram, organized a Hindi workshop-cum-seminar and Kavi Sammelan (poets' gathering). The program commenced with a Saraswati Vandana (prayer to Goddess Saraswati) and the lighting of five lamps, under the chairmanship of the Chief Guest, Shri Kumar Pal Sharma, Joint Director (Implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, and the Head of Office, Shri Sunil Yadav. The Head of Office welcomed and felicitated the Chief Guest with a shawl, a plant pot, and a coconut.
Based on the theme of World Hindi Day 2026, "Hindi: From Traditional Knowledge to Artificial Intelligence," the Head of Office read out the message of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. This was followed by cultural performances, including poems, songs, and ghazals presented by the participants.
During the program, the Administration Branch of the office was honored with a shield and certificate under the Inter-Branch Official Language Rolling Shield Scheme for its efforts in promoting and propagating the official language, Hindi. Additionally, Shri Sachin Singh, Deputy Director, was felicitated with a certificate under the Hindi Dictation Scheme for the year 2024-25 by the Head of Office.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Shri Kumar Pal Sharma, emphasized the importance of taking Hindi to the international level, which is possible only through its widespread promotion. He highlighted that with its simplicity, ease of use, and rich literary heritage, Hindi continues to strengthen its position as a language of information technology, digital media, and modern technology. He further stated that unity in diversity is the identity of our country, and Hindi serves as a medium of this identity. He urged everyone to embrace Hindi in thought, word, and deed.
The Head of Office, Shri Sunil Yadav, while addressing the gathering, said that Hindi is our mother tongue and is closest to our hearts. Therefore, we should respect Hindi and encourage its wider use. He further stated that the Corporation has a deep connection with Hindi. The foundation of the Corporation is based on the language of the insured persons, which is mainly Hindi and its various dialects. Hence, we should adopt Hindi wholeheartedly.
Subsequently, winners of various Hindi competitions organized under the aegis of the Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (Town Official Language Implementation Committee), Gurugram, were honored with certificates and mementos. Certificates were also distributed to participants of the Hindi workshop-cum-seminar by the Head of Office and the Chief Guest. The program was conducted by Shri Birju Singh, Translation Officer.
At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Sweety Yadav, Assistant Director (Official Language), extended her gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Head of Office, and all participating officers, noting that this day, while highlighting the global importance of Hindi, also celebrates the rich history and glory of the national language.
