The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a Doorstep Digital Life Certificate (DLC) generation facility for pensioners under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), in collaboration with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). The facility has come into effect from 1 December 2025.

Under the new arrangement, pensioners are no longer required to visit banks, post offices or EPFO offices to submit their annual life certificate. A postal employee or postman will visit the pensioner’s residence and generate the Digital Life Certificate using Aadhaar-based Face Authentication Technology or biometric authentication.
Regional Provident Fund Commissioner–I, Chhattisgarh Zone, Jayavadan Ingle said that the service is completely free of cost and no charges are payable by pensioners. He added that the facility will ensure uninterrupted pension payments and will be particularly beneficial for elderly, sick, differently-abled and destitute pensioners.
To avail the doorstep service, pensioners may place a request by calling the customer care number of India Post Payments Bank. Upon receiving the request, the concerned postal employee will visit the pensioner’s residence, verify the required details and generate the Digital Life Certificate. The IPPB customer care number is 033-22029000.
EPFO has cautioned pensioners not to pay any amount to anyone for availing this service. Postal staff will also provide guidance to pensioners for self-generation of the Digital Life Certificate through face authentication in the future. In case of any grievance, pensioners may use the grievance redressal mechanisms of EPFO or India Post Payments Bank.
Appealing to all EPS pensioners to take maximum advantage of the facility, Jayavadan Ingle said that the initiative is especially relief-oriented for senior citizens as it delivers services at their doorstep. He reiterated that EPFO remains committed to continuously strengthening and expanding service delivery for its members and pensioners, and that this initiative is an important step in that direction.
All EPS pensioners have been urged to submit their annual Digital Life Certificate in a timely manner by availing the Doorstep Digital Life Certificate facility launched with the support of India Post Payments Bank.
