Sevok - Rangpo Railway project to be completed by Dec 2027

Chhatisgarh Media delegation observed the marvelous project

In the mist-clad hills and deep valleys of Sikkim  a revolution is unfolding on steel tracks. What was once considered a distant terrain is now being threaded together with ambitious –Sevok–Rangpo railway projects signaling not just connectivity, but a new era of commerce, mobility, and integration for India’s northeastern frontier.The 44.96 km Sevok–Rangpo line is under progress and targeted for completion by December 2027, providing Sikkim’s first railway connectivity.

 

The Visiting Delegation of Journalists from Chhattisgarh visited the Sevok–Rangpo project site in Rongpur Sikkim. The details of the Project was highlighted by Mohinder Singh Advisor of the Project. He informed that the 44.96 km Sevok–Rangpo line is under progress and targeted for completion by December 2027, providing Sikkim’s first railway connectivity. Around 90% of the  project work is complete and the work for the First Tunnel station Testa Bajar of India is almost complete and total 5 stations in the Project are in different phase of Completion. The longest tunnel in this projects spans almost 5300 meter and the shortest is 542 meter. The foundation stone for the project was laid on 30 October 2019 at Sivok by at Rangpo by Vice President of India and at Sivok by Railway Minister.
