Central University of Tamil Nadu and University of Southern Brittany, France, sign MoU for academic cooperation

The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Southern Brittany, France, on 04 March 2026. This partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening global academic engagement.

The MoU was signed by Prof. R. Thirumurugan, Registrar, CUTN, and Prof. David Menier, President, University of Southern Brittany, in the presence of Prof. M. Krishnan, Vice-Chancellor, at the CUTN campus in Thiruvarur. This MoU establishes a structured framework for academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions over the next three years.
The agreement envisages a range of joint initiatives, including collaborative research projects and joint publications. A primary objective of the partnership is to enable the exchange of faculty members and students, providing an international platform for academic exposure.
Beyond personnel exchange, the partnership will facilitate the organisation of international conferences, workshops, and training programmes. It also promotes the systematic sharing of academic materials and resources to support the research goals of both universities.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Krishnan, stated that the collaboration would develop the exchange of ideas and global perspectives. He added that such innovative practices are essential to strengthening scientific research and maintaining academic excellence at the institution.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Menier observed that the agreement reflected a shared commitment to enhancing academic and research mobility between France and India.
Senior university Officers, including Shri. CA GR Giridharan, Finance Officer, Prof. Sulochana Shekhar, Controller of Examinations, Dr R. Parameshwaran, Librarian, and various faculty members were present during the signing of the MoU between the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) India and Université Bretagne Sud (UBS), France.
