Central Silk Board’s CSGRC, Hosur, to host National Seminar on ‘Seri-Genetic Resources Conservation: Challenges, Innovations, and Future Pathways’

CSB-Central Sericultural Germplasm Resources Centre (CSB-CSGRC), Ministry of Textiles, will host a national seminar focused on the conservation of sericulture genetic resources and emerging innovations at Hosur on 06 March 2026. The event aims to strengthen the sustainability and future growth of the Indian silk sector.

The seminar will deliberate on strategies for conservation, sustainable utilization and future research directions related to sericulture genetic resources in India. 

The National Seminar will be graced by the following officials, Shri P. Sivakumar, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board, Shri Girisha P.S., Director [Fin.], Central Silk Board, Dr. Naresh Babu N., Joint Secretary (Tech.), Central Silk Board, Dr. Manthira S. Moorthy – Director [Tech.], Central Silk Board, Dr. N. Dhahira Beevi – Director, CSB-CSGRC.

In addition, senior officers, scientists, academicians, scholars, entrepreneurs and key stakeholders of the silk sector will participate in the seminar. The programme will bring together experts from across the country to discuss conservation of sericulture genetic resources, emerging research innovations and approaches for strengthening India’s silk sector. Technical sessions will deliberate on key research developments and collaborative opportunities in the field of sericulture.
