JIPMER Recreation Club organises ‘Fit India’ Sports & Cultural Fest

Under the guidance of Dr. Vir Singh Negi, Director, JIPMER, and in alignment with the Government of India’s Fit India movement envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the JIPMER Recreation Club successfully conducted a two-month-long Sports and Cultural Fest for staff and faculty from 2nd January to 3rd March 2026.
The initiative promoted physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic development among healthcare professionals. A wide range of sporting events—including volleyball, football, cricket, kabaddi, badminton, athletics, and indoor games—witnessed enthusiastic participation across departments. Cultural competitions such as singing, dance, photography, essay writing, rangoli, and mono acting showcased the creative talents of participants.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 04.03.2026 in the presence of Dr. Bavana Badhe, Acting Director, JIPMER; Dr. Saka Vinod Kumar, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Vikram Kate, Dean (Academic); Shri Hawa Singh, Senior Administrative Officer; and Dr. Vishnukanth, Chairman, JIPMER Recreation Club.
In their address, the dignitaries underscored the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between professional commitments and physical activity, highlighting that regular participation in sports and cultural engagements contributes significantly to overall well-being. They reiterated that such initiatives resonate strongly with the national vision of integrating fitness into everyday life and fostering a culture of wellness within institutions.
Winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates. The event concluded on a note of unity and enthusiasm, reinforcing JIPMER’s commitment to the Fit India vision.
