In order to complement and supplement the effort of the other central Government scheme like Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) as well as State Government’s owned schemes, FIDF acts as an enabling financial mechanism for infrastructure development, while PMMSY provides developmental support, together contributing to sustainable growth, augment of fish production, investment, employment generation and enhancement of fisheries export thereby attributing to enhancement of income of fishers & fish farmers in the country.
