Sādhana Saptah Day 5: Key Highlights of Tradition-Focused Webinars

The fifth day of Sādhana Saptah 2026 will continue the focus on Tradition, with expert-led webinars scheduled for 6 April 2026. The sessions will explore governance culture and value addition, India's governance traditions in contemporary leadership, and community-based forest conservation practices. Multiple Central Ministries, Departments and State Governments will also host specialised webinars on digitalisation, governance reforms, future skills in agriculture and use of AI in governance.

 

Key Highlights of the Day (6th April, 2026):

 

1. Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe:

Topic: Governance Culture Shaping our Society! Centrality of the pursuit for Value Addition

Time: 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Dr. Sahasrabuddhe (Former President of Indian Council for Cultural Relations) will discuss how governance culture shapes society and the importance of pursuing value addition in public service. The session will explore the role of cultural values and traditions in building effective governance systems.

 

2. Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai:

Topic: Ethics, Strategy and Public Leadership: Applying India's Governance Traditions Today

Time: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Dr. Pillai (Director of Chanakya International Institute of Leadership Studies) will examine how India's traditional governance wisdom can be applied to contemporary public leadership. The session will focus on ethics, strategic thinking and leadership principles drawn from Indian knowledge systems and their relevance for modern governance.

 

3. Mr. Milind Thatte:

Topic: Guardians of the Forest: How India's Communities Protect and Preserve

Time: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Mr. Thatte (Director, Tribal Ethos and Economics Research) will highlight community-based approaches to forest conservation and preservation. The session will showcase how traditional knowledge and community governance practices contribute to environmental protection and sustainable resource management.

Department of Posts - PTC Vadodara (10:30 AM):

Topic: Dak-Karmayogi: Digitalizing the Training Ecosystem

PTC Vadodara will present on the digitalization of the training ecosystem within the Department of Posts. The session will showcase how technology is being used to modernize training delivery and enhance learning outcomes for postal employees across the country.

 

DARE-ICAR - Dr. M.L. Jat, Secretary, DARE & DG, ICAR (11:30 AM):

Topic: Reforms in Governance @ICAR

Dr. Jat will discuss governance reforms being implemented at ICAR to improve efficiency, transparency and service delivery. The session will highlight structural changes, policy reforms and digital initiatives aimed at strengthening agricultural research and extension systems.

 

DARE-ICAR Samuhik Charcha (3:00 PM):

Topic: Future Skills in Agriculture for preparing Next-Gen Agri-Leaders

Convener: Dr. Ch. Srinivas Rao, Director, IARI

Moderator: Dr. B. Ganesh, Head, HRM - NAARM, Hyderabad

Experts: ICAR & Industries & Stakeholders

 

This collaborative discussion will focus on identifying and developing future skills needed for agriculture sector leadership. The session will bring together experts from ICAR, industry and stakeholders to explore emerging competencies, technological capabilities and leadership qualities required to prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders.

 

Himachal Pradesh - ATI Himachal Pradesh (11:30 AM):

Topic: Use of AI in Office Work

ATI Himachal Pradesh will demonstrate practical applications of Artificial Intelligence in routine office work. The session will cover AI tools and techniques that can improve productivity, streamline administrative processes and enhance decision-making in government offices.

 

Chandigarh - Mr. Vijay Dayaram, IAS, Director (Technical Education) (5:00 PM):

Topic: Use of AI in Governance

Mr. Dayaram will explore how Artificial Intelligence is being leveraged to improve governance and public service delivery. The session will discuss AI applications in policy analysis, citizen services, administrative efficiency and data-driven governance for better outcomes.
