NBCFDC Registers Record Performance in FY’2025-26

The National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC), a Section 8 company under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, is mandated to undertake initiatives for the socio-economic empowerment of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) across the country. The Corporation primarily facilitates concessional lending through channel partners such as State Channelising Agencies (SCAs), banks, and NBFCs.
The key highlights of its performance during FY 2025–26 are as follows:
During FY 2025–26, NBCFDC achieved its highest-ever disbursement of ₹613.75 crore, benefiting 61,621 beneficiaries, marking an increase of approximately 16% over FY 2024–25. The Corporation ensured 100% geographical coverage and achieved about 99% utilization of available funds.
In order to expand the outreach of concessional finance among deprived sections, the Ministry
introduced the VISVAS Interest Subvention Scheme in FY 2024–25. During FY 2025–26, NBCFDC fully utilized the allocated grant of ₹35.20 crore under the scheme and facilitated concessional lending to 1,92,650 beneficiaries, covering an aggregate loan amount of ₹2,720 crore.
The Corporation also achieved full utilization of funds released by the Ministry under the National Fellowship for OBCs during FY 2025–26. An amount of ₹123.33 crore was disbursed, benefiting 2,505 OBC students. NBCFDC has been at the forefront of implementing the livelihood component of the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (SEED). During FY 2025–26, financial assistance of ₹19.20 crore was extended, supporting 2,373 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and 28,476 beneficiaries.
The Corporation has also achieved near-complete utilization of the PM-DAKSH grant of ₹45.34
crore, leading to the closure of scheme liabilities. NBCFDC further supported the Ministry’s outreach initiatives by organizing two Shilp Melas at Bhubaneswar and Ahmedabad during FY 2025–26.
In addition, the Corporation provided logistical support for the Chintan Shivir held at Dehradun on 7–8 April 2025.
NBCFDC remains committed to the socio-economic empowerment of OBC communities through effective implementation of its various schemes and continued collaboration with partner institutions.
