Posted On: 15 APR 2026 3:59PM by PIB Chandigarh

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reassured citizens across Haryana that the supply of petroleum products and LPG remains stable, sufficient, and fully capable of meeting current demand. There is no shortage of fuel or LPG in the state.

State Level Coordinator of Haryana (Oil Industry), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Shri Anil Kumar Singh Said that the LPG supply position continues to remain comfortable. Stock levels at bottling plants across Haryana are well within historical norms, and replenishment is being carried out in a planned and continuous manner. OMCs are fully equipped to meet domestic LPG cylinder demand as per consumer requirements. Additionally, the supply of commercial LPG to priority sectors is being maintained at up to 70% of pre-crisis levels, in line with government policy.Special focus is being given to migrant labourers through the supply of 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders. Daily distribution of 2,000–2,500 cylinders is being ensured, matching pre-crisis volumes. To further strengthen access, dedicated LPG distribution camps are being organised by OMCs in coordination with district administrations.

He said that OMCs are closely monitoring the situation and have undertaken proactive steps to streamline logistics and expedite deliveries in coordination with the Government of Haryana. Several meetings have been held with the state government focusing on the availability and distribution of petroleum products and the expansion of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network. In line with directions from the Central Government, deemed approvals have been issued to facilitate faster implementation of CGD projects and enhance PNG penetration.

Shri Anil Kumar said that Consumers are advised to book LPG cylinders only through authorised digital platforms and ensure delivery authentication using the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) to promote transparency and efficient service. Meanwhile, stocks of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) remain normal across the state. OMC depots maintain healthy inventory levels, and retail outlets have adequate supplies to ensure uninterrupted sales. There is no cause for concern regarding the availability of automotive fuels.

Shri Anil said that It is noteworthy that while HSD consumption remained flat (0% growth) from April 2025 to February 2026, demand witnessed a sharp increase of 22% in March 2026. OMCs successfully managed this surge without any disruption in supply. OMCs reiterate their commitment to ensuring uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and LPG and urge the public to avoid panic buying. All necessary arrangements are in place to meet demand smoothly and efficiently.
