The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras)-led digital learning platform, SWAYAM Plus, has officially launched three new AI courses in partnership with IITM Pravartak, under the ‘AI for All’ campaign. Introduced by Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, during an event marking two years of SWAYAM Plus operations, these courses—AI for Aspiring Engineers, AI for Administrators, and Prompt Engineering—aim to make cutting-edge digital skills accessible to a global audience without requiring prior coding experience.

Specifically, AI for Aspiring Engineers equips students with foundational Python, AI and Machine Learning skills using real engineering datasets. AI for Administrators enables management professionals to leverage AI, Machine learning and Generative AI for decision-making, while the Prompt Engineering course focuses on optimizing interactions with AI systems. The course AI for Aspiring Engineers is priced at Rs. 500 + GST, while both AI for Administrators and Prompt Engineering are available at a fee of Rs. 100 + GST.

Highlighting the success of SWAYAM Plus courses, its Coordinator, Prof. R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras, said, “SWAYAM Plus, an initiative of the Ministry of Education and implemented by IIT Madras, has successfully completed two years. Since its inception, the platform has grown significantly, now hosting over 500 online courses across more than 15 sectors, including engineering, BFSI, Indian Knowledge Systems, and IT/ITeS. To date, over 5,50,000 learners have registered on the platform.”

These offerings follow the success of the ‘AI for All’ campaign, which has already seen over 92,000 registrations across previous batches.
