Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur has entered into a strategic collaboration with Masai School to launch two new interdisciplinary degree programmes — a BS in Management and Technology and an MBA Technology — aimed at preparing learners for the rapidly evolving technology-driven global economy.

The partnership marks one of the few instances where an IIT has collaborated with a private outcome-driven education platform to co-offer degree programmes, reinforcing IIT Jodhpur’s commitment to making high-quality, interdisciplinary education more accessible, industry-relevant, and future-oriented.

The newly launched programmes are designed to integrate technological capability, management expertise, and human and societal insight into a single structured academic framework. With a strong emphasis on real-world applicability, innovation, leadership, and employability, the initiative seeks to redefine how higher education responds to the changing needs of industry and society.

The BS in Management and Technology programme has been designed for students from all academic backgrounds after Class XII, making an IIT-affiliated degree accessible even to learners from non-science streams. Admission to the programme will be through a qualifier test. The curriculum spans 141 credits across eight semesters and offers balanced exposure to technology, management, and social sciences.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the programme also includes flexible exit options after the first, second, or third year, enabling students to receive credentials at each stage and enter the workforce as per their aspirations and career goals.

The MBA Technology programme, on the other hand, is designed for working professionals across industries who aspire to strengthen their understanding of technology-driven business environments and enhance leadership and strategic decision-making capabilities. The 66-credit programme includes a work-integrated project and covers strategic management, digital enterprise, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and product-focused learning.

Students enrolled in these programmes will also benefit from campus immersions and access to IIT Jodhpur’s clubs, festivals, and library ecosystem, thereby experiencing the vibrant academic and cultural environment of the Institute. Upon completion, graduates will receive a degree from IIT Jodhpur and be recognised as IIT Jodhpur alumni.

Speaking on the launch of the programmes and the collaboration, Prof. Avinash Kumar Agarwal, Director, IIT Jodhpur, said:

“At IIT Jodhpur, we have always believed that the most meaningful education is one that prepares learners not just for careers, but for the complexity of the real world. These new programmes are a step in that direction, combining academic rigour with real-world applicability. By integrating technology, management, and human and societal insight into a single, structured learning experience, we are redefining what an IIT-led degree can look like - one that is as rigorous in its thinking as it is relevant to the world our graduates will lead, and as unwavering in its academic excellence as it is in its commitment to learner success.”

Dr. Anuj Pal Kapoor, Associate Dean of Executive Education, IIT Jodhpur, said:

“Leadership today demands more than functional expertise - it demands the ability to navigate complexity, connect disciplines, and make decisions that hold up in a rapidly changing world. These programmes are built with that in mind - the BS in Management and Technology lays this foundation early, while the MBA Technology takes it further, transforming not just careers but the way its participants think and lead.”

Dr. Deepak Kumar Saxena, Head, School of Management and Entrepreneurship, IIT Jodhpur, remarked:

“Management education must go beyond frameworks - it must build the ability to think independently, act decisively, and create meaningful impact. These programmes bring together management rigour and technological relevance, preparing graduates who are not just employable but equipped to drive value across organisations and industries.”

Mr. Prateek Shukla, Co-Founder & CEO, Masai, said:

"A student from any background who wants to build a career in technology should not have to start over or settle for anything else simply because they didn't choose a science group in school. Then, there's the employability quotient, which automatically increases when a candidate possesses both technical and management skills. These are precisely what we wanted to address with these two programs. Through this collaboration with IIT Jodhpur, we are creating a credible path for any student who wants to build their skill sets, earn a degree from one of the country's most respected institutions, and step into the workforce confidently."

The collaboration reflects IIT Jodhpur’s larger vision of fostering interdisciplinary education, strengthening academia-industry partnerships, and creating transformative learning opportunities that prepare students and professionals for leadership roles in a technology-intensive future.
