Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), an autonomous body functioning under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, has actively launched widespread awareness and mobilization activities across Karnataka to ensure the successful implementation of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) within the state.
A flagship initiative of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, this scheme aims to provide meaningful internship opportunities in leading companies across the country to young individuals aged between 18 and 25 years. The core objective of the scheme is to enhance employability, provide practical knowledge, mentorship, and foster industry-oriented learning among the youth.
To ensure maximum outreach and heavy participation from eligible candidates, the 'MY Bharat Karnataka' organization is utilizing its extensive state and district-level network. Under the supervision of Deputy Directors and District Youth Officers, comprehensive awareness programs are being organized across various colleges, universities, ITIs, skill development centers, educational institutions, and youth organizations. Along with this, relevant departments within the State and District Administration are also being actively engaged and informed to streamline the smooth execution of this initiative.
Selected interns under this scheme will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹ 9,000 (subject to attendance) along with a one-time joining grant of ₹ 6,000. These financial benefits will highly incentivize young talents. This strategic move is expected to provide premium industrial exposure to youth hailing from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and significantly strengthen their career pathways.
In light of these efforts, the 'MY Bharat' organization has formally appealed to all educational institutions, local bodies, industries, and regional stakeholders to extend their full cooperation in widely disseminating the details of the scheme and motivating eligible youth to register.
