Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited have assured consumers of smooth and uninterrupted availability of Petrol (MS), Diesel (HSD) and LPG across the country amid increased fuel demand in several regions.

The PSU Oil Companies continue coordinated operations and logistics management to maintain seamless fuel supplies and efficient distribution networks.

In recent days, OMCs have witnessed a significant rise in petroleum product offtake. In Goa, Petrol (MS) retail sales recorded a growth of 7.62%, while Diesel (HSD) retail sales registered an increase of 10.07% during the period from May 1 to May 24, 2026, compared to the corresponding period last year.

The enhanced demand is primarily driven by seasonal agricultural activities and additional migration of institutional and commercial consumers towards Public Sector Retail Outlets due to prevailing price differences with other suppliers in the region.

The Oil Industry has reassured citizens that adequate stocks of Petrol, Diesel and LPG are available across the country and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure uninterrupted supplies.

Consumers have been advised to continue normal purchasing behaviour and avoid panic buying. Citizens are also urged to rely only on official communications issued by authorised agencies and Oil Marketing Companies for accurate information regarding fuel availability.
