Inauguration of New UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendra at Ballari, Karnataka

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) operationalised a new UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) at Ballari today, marking another significant step towards strengthening resident-centric Aadhaar services in the city. The  UIDAI ASK was inaugurated by Sh. Mohammed Zubair N, KAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner & Additional District Magistrate of Ballari.

The Ballari Aadhaar Seva Kendra is a Model-C centre equipped with 4 operational kits to provide seamless Aadhaar-related services to the residents. The Aadhaar Seva Kendra offers Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, error correction, and grievance redressal services under one roof. This UIDAI ASK functions on all days except public holidays, thereby ensuring greater accessibility, convenience and an enhanced service experience for residents. The ADC interacted with residents at the ASK as well as the centre staff and enquired about the Aadhaar enrolment and update procedures being followed to deliver Aadhaar services efficiently at the centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Gulshan Kumar Singh, Deputy Director, UIDAI Regional Office Bengaluru, apprised that 7 Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) were operational in Karnataka so far, including the two newly opened centres at Vijayapura and Bidar which were inaugurated in the last week. With the inauguration of this new centre in Ballari, the 8th Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Karnataka has now become operational. Looking ahead, UIDAI RO Bengaluru plans to open 16 more Aadhaar Seva Kendras across Karnataka, taking the total number of ASKs in the state to 24 centers by September 2026.

These Aadhaar Seva Kendras are directly operated by UIDAI. The centres are designed to be fully inclusive and resident-friendly with facilities such as wheelchair accessibility, accessible restrooms, and a dedicated grievance redressal mechanism. Each Aadhaar Seva Kendra is managed by an UIDAI ASK Manager who receives grievances from residents and facilitates timely resolution of the same. Residents can also book appointments online for Aadhaar services at ASK visiting UIDAI Aadhaar Appointment Portal: https://bookappointment.uidai.gov.in/Mandatory Biometric updates for children aged 5-17 years are now being provided free of cost till September 2026 and the facility is available in Aadhaar Seva Kendras and through school camps. 

The event was hosted by UIDAI Regional Office, Bengaluru, in the presence of Sh. Gulshan Kumar Singh, Deputy Director, UIDAI Regional Office Bengaluru and Sh. Prasad Babu, Assistant Manager, UIDAI RO Bengaluru and representatives from Media, UIDAI ASK staff, and the service provider M/s BLS International. 

The inauguration of the UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendra at Ballari reinforces UIDAI's commitment to accessible, efficient and resident-centric Aadhaar services, strengthening digital governance and enhancing the Ease of Living in line with the Government of India's vision of digital inclusion and good governance.
