Shri V. Somanna, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, Lays Foundation Stone for Road Under Bridge at Kallipalya Gate,Gubbi

Shri V. Somanna, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Road Under Bridge (RUB) in lieu of Level Crossing Gate No. 48 (KallipalyaGate)inGubbi Taluk, Tumakuru District.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shri V. Somanna stated that the construction of the Road Under Bridge is being taken up on a priority basis and assured that all Road Over Bridge (ROB) and Road Under Bridge (RUB) works currently in progress would be completed within a year. The Road Under Bridge In lieu of Level Crossing Gate No. 48 (Kallipalya Gate) is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹10.86 crore. The project aims to facilitate the safe and uninterrupted movement of both rail and road traffic.

The Hon'ble Minister informed that the Rayadurga–Tumakuru New Line Project is progressing well and that train operations up to Pavagada would commence within the next two months.The Minister further stated that the Pavagada–Madakasira–Madhugiri–Koratagere–Urukere railway line, which is part of the Tumakuru–Rayadurga New Railway Line Project, would also be completed expeditiously. The Minsiter added that the Tumakuru–Davanagere railway line project is progressing well and that efforts are being made to accelerate its completion. 

Shri V. Somanna also highlighted the proposed Integrated Logistics Terminal Project atThimmarajanahalli near Tumakuru. Shri V.Somanna stated that the project, which is in the pipeline, would be taken up shortly and is expected to benefit lakhs of people while generating employment opportunities for thousands of people in the region. The Minister noted that about 30 ROB and RUB projects are currently under implementation in the region, requiring extensive coordination among multiple departments and agencies. The Minsiter expressed his sincere appreciation to the district administration for its support, particularly in facilitating the land acquisition process.

The Minsiter further informed that station redevelopment works at Yesvantpur and Bengaluru Cantonment stations are progressing at a fast pace. He stated that redevelopment works at KSR Bengaluru Station will be taken up subsequently.The Minister also noted that 64 railway stations across Karnataka are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Shri V. Somanna stated that the quadrupling of the Bengaluru–Tumakuru railway line will be undertaken, which is expected to significantly boost regional connectivity and economic growth. Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Praveen Kataraki and other senior officials of Bengaluru Division were present on the occasion.
