On the occasion of World Environment Day, Karnataka & Kerala Sector, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), organized a large-scale plantation drive across all formations under the Sector to promote environmental conservation and sustainable development. Dr. Vipul Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Karnataka & Kerala Sector CRPF, along with all officers, subordinate officers, other ranks and  family members, actively participated in the programme.

The plantation drive was conducted simultaneously at Range Bengaluru, Group Centre Bengaluru, 240 (M) Battalion, 247 Battalion, D/97 Battalion, CIT Bengaluru and all other establishments and institutions in the CRPF campus Bengaluru.

Bengaluru based 02 NGO have also principiated:  

01.🌱 Hasire Usiru is a Karnataka-based environmental organization dedicated to tree plantation, green cover enhancement, biodiversity conservation, and environmental awareness.

02.🤝 Jeevanmukthi Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on rural development, education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, and community welfare, working towards sustainable social development.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from personnel of all ranks, reaffirming the Force's commitment towards environmental protection and a greener future. Thousands of saplings were planted as part of the nationwide initiative undertaken by CRPF under the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Vipul Kumar, IPS, emphasized that environmental protection is a collective responsibility and encouraged all personnel to contribute actively towards preserving nature for future generations. He highlighted the importance of increasing green cover and adopting eco-friendly practices in daily life. Karnataka & Kerala Sector CRPF remains dedicated to environmental sustainability and will continue to undertake initiatives aimed at conserving natural resources and promoting ecological balance.
