The nationwide edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle was led from New Delhi by Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, under the Fit India Movement in collaboration with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Cycling Federation of India (CFI). The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation across the country, further strengthening the vision of making fitness a mass movement and promoting cycling as a healthy and sustainable lifestyle choice through a pan-India programme.

As part of the nationwide campaign, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre Gandhinagar successfully organised Fit India Sundays on Cycle (SoC) activities across Gujarat and Rajasthan, bringing together more than 10,000 citizens in a vibrant celebration of fitness, cycling and community spirit. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from families, students, youth, athletes, coaches, cycling enthusiasts and local communities, turning Sunday mornings into a festival of health, active living and togetherness.

The largest gathering was recorded in Bikaner, where more than 1,500 participants joined the event led by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal. Jaipur witnessed participation of over 800 individuals in the presence of Hon’ble Minister Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. Ahmedabad and Vadodara also attracted more than 500 participants each in the presence of the respective Mayors, local dignitaries and sportspersons, reflecting strong civic support for the Fit India Movement. Strong community engagement was also reported from Gandhinagar, Alwar and Jodhpur, where cyclists of all ages came together to ride, connect and promote active lifestyles.

Speaking on the occasion in Bikaner, Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal said, “Cycling is a simple yet powerful way to stay healthy and active. Initiatives like Fit India Sundays on Cycle inspire people from all walks of life to adopt fitness as a daily habit while also promoting an environmentally sustainable mode of transport.”

In Jaipur, Hon’ble Minister Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said, “The Fit India Movement has become a people’s movement, and cycling is one of the best ways to combine fitness, discipline and community participation. It is encouraging to see citizens, especially youth, coming together in such large numbers to embrace an active lifestyle.”

The Mayors of Ahmedabad and Vadodara also lauded the overwhelming public response to the initiative, noting that cycling serves as a simple yet effective means of promoting fitness, reducing carbon footprint and strengthening community engagement. They encouraged citizens, particularly youth and families, to embrace active lifestyles and support the vision of a fitter and healthier India.

A key highlight of the programme was the remarkable mobilisation through the Khelo India Centre (KIC) network. All 34 operational Khelo India Centres in Gujarat participated, while around 30 Khelo India Centres in Rajasthan joined the initiative. KIC-led activities generated an estimated 4,000–5,000 participants, showcasing the growing culture of community-driven fitness and the power of grassroots sports ecosystems in bringing people together.

In addition to the flagship events, cycling rallies, awareness programmes and community engagement activities were conducted by Khelo India Centres, educational institutions, cycling clubs and local stakeholders across multiple districts. The initiative further strengthened the message of the Fit India Movement, encouraged citizens to embrace regular physical activity and highlighted cycling as a fun, sustainable and accessible way to stay fit while building stronger, healthier communities.
