The event was graced by Shri Lav Agarwal, Director General of Foreign Trade, as the Chief Guest and witnessed active participation from exporters, MSMEs, industry associations, and ECGC. The meeting focused on strengthening India’s export ecosystem and enhancing awareness about government initiatives supporting international trade facilitation.

The outreach programme featured detailed technical sessions by speakers from the offices   of DGFT, ECGC and MSME, highlighting effective utilization of DGFT schemes to enhance participation in global markets, followed by sharing of industry experience with speakers from Marine Fisheries, Engineering and Medtech Export sectors from Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Guest, Shri Lav Agarwal, Director General of Foreign Trade, addressed the gathering and outlined policy priorities under the Export Promotion Mission. He specifically emphasized the progress made in handling EODC (Export Obligation Discharge Certificate) cases, as a part of EODC drive that was conducted from March 1st 2026 to May 31st 2026, including those redeemed through the Regional Authority (RA), Visakhapatnam. Further, MSME units were encouraged to actively utilize the opportunities available under the newly launched Export Promotion Mission which has two themes viz., Niryat Protsahan, for trade finance support and Niryat Disha, for overcoming market access barriers.

The launch of the Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) drive, which commenced on 01.06.2026, as a focused 90-day national campaign aimed at increasing export of specified products from each district and transforming them as an Export Hub was also highlighted. From Andhra Pradesh, Ananthapur, Chittoor, East Godavari, Guntur, Krishna and Visakhapatnam have been selected as priority districts. The initiative seeks to strengthen market linkages for identified district products and improve the visibility of unique local products which creates new market opportunities for producers and MSMEs.

An interactive question-and-answer session enabled direct engagement between stakeholders and officials, facilitating meaningful exchange of ideas and challenges in the export sector.

The event concluded with a strong reaffirmation of DGFT’s continued commitment to supporting exporters, strengthening MSME participation, and advancing India’s vision of becoming a global manufacturing and export hub.
