In today's interconnected world, a passport is much more than a travel document. It is a powerful instrument of global mobility that enables citizens to pursue education, employment, business opportunities and cultural exchanges across international borders. It also serves as an important symbol of national identity and India's growing engagement with the world.

Over the years, India's Passport Seva Programme has undergone a remarkable transformation through technology-driven and citizen-centric reforms. The conference focused on enhancing passport service delivery through discussions on capacity building, grievance redressal, security, inter-ministerial coordination and adoption of best practices.

Addressing the conference, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar highlighted the transformation of passport services into a citizen-centric and digitally driven model. He emphasized that initiatives such as e-Passports, Passport Seva Mobile Vans and the expanded network of PSKs and POPSKs have significantly improved accessibility and strengthened global mobility for Indian citizens. He further noted that the Conference focused on improving service delivery through regular public feedback, and said efficient passport issuance remains a key enabler for building a "global workforce for a global workplace.
