Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) operationalized a new state -of-the art Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) at Kancheepuram on Friday , 1 7th July 2026 marking another step towards strengthening resident - centric Aadhaar services in the city of Kancheepuram .

The ASK Kancheepuram was inaugurated by Thiru. SPK.Thennarasu, Minister for Welfare of Non - residents Tamils, Govt of Tamil Nadu and Thiru. R. V. Ranjith Kumar,  Minister for Forests, Govt of Tamil Nadu as Chief Guest. Tmt D. Sneha IAS , District Collector Kancheepuram, Director, UIDAI RO Bengaluru and other officials allso attended the event. The Ministers appreciated the UIDAI’s effort and interacted with residents who visited ASK as well as the centre staff present there. Also, enquired about the Aadhaar enrolment and update procedures, and reviewed the various Aadhaar services being provided at the centre.

The Kendra is equipped with 8 operational kits to provide seamless Aadhaar -related services to thousands of residents. The ASK is functional on all days except public holidays, thereby ensuring greater accessibility & convenience. The Aadhaar Seva Kendra offers Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, grievance redressal and other Aadhaar related services under one roof.

In addition to the enrolment and update transactions, ASK Kancheepuram will also receive grievances from Aadhaar number holders for their resolution through the Regional Office.

With the inauguration of the Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) at Kancheepuram , UIDAI has now operationalised 09 Aadhaar Seva Kendras across Tamil nadu. A further 21 ASKs are scheduled to become operational in the coming days across various districts, increasing the total 30 UIDAI -run Aadhaar Seva Kendras in the State.

The ASKs run by UIDAI, are designed to be fully inclusive and resident -friendly with facilities such as wheelchair accessibility, accessible restrooms, and a dedicated grievance redressal mechanism.
