The Ministry of Railways has sanctioned the survey for the proposed Dharashiv–Beed–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar New Railway Line (240 km) for the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR). The survey work has already been taken up.

Following the preparation of the DPR, sanctioning of the railway project will require consultations with various stakeholders, including the State Government, and necessary approvals such as appraisal of NITI Aayog, the Ministry of Finance etc. The Ministry of Railways has stated that the sanctioning of railway projects is a continuous and dynamic process. The exact timelines depend upon appraisals and approvals by various stakeholders.

This information was given by the Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
