Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi has hailed the stellar performance of India’s women athletes at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, where Nari Shakti powered Team India’s golden campaign by winning 8 of India’s 13 Gold medals across Boxing, Weightlifting, Judo and Para Athletics.
In a post on ‘X’ the Union Minister said that five Indian women boxers clinched Gold, showcasing India’s growing dominance and depth in the sport. She stated that their courage, resilience and excellence reflect the remarkable rise of women in Indian sports and are inspiring a new generation of girls to dream big, pursue excellence and proudly represent India on the global stage.
She added that under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India’s daughters continue to script a new era of sporting excellence.
