The Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026, one of the country's highest civilian honours for children, recognizing exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions by children who have positively impacted society. The award celebrates the energy, determination, ability, zeal and enthusiasm of children and recognizes outstanding achievements under six categories—Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art & Culture, and Science & Technology. Children who are Indian citizens and residents of India, aged above 5 years and not exceeding 18 years as on July 31, 2026, are eligible for nomination. The achievement, act or contribution for which the child is nominated should have taken place within two years preceding the last date of submission of nominations.

 Nominations may be submitted by individuals, institutions, eligible children through self-nomination, Central and State Governments, Members of Parliament, District Magistrates/Collectors, educational institutions, and other eligible authorities. Each awardee will receive a Medal, Certificate and Citation. Up to 25 awards will be conferred, subject to the recommendations of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Committee. The awards will be announced on December 26, 2026, on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, and will be conferred by the Hon'ble President of India at a special ceremony in New Delhi. The last date for submission of nominations has been extended to August 15, 2026. Interested and eligible individuals and organizations may submit nominations online through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal at https://awards.gov.in.
