The Unit Approval Committee (UAC) of MEPZ Special Economic Zone chaired by Thiru.  Alex Paul Menon, IAS, Zonal Development Commissioner has approved eleven significant  investment proposals during its August meeting, reinforcing the Tamil Nadu, Andaman &  Puducherry region's position as a premier destination for export-oriented growth. The  approvals, comprising 9 new SEZ units and 2 Export Oriented Units, represent a combined  investment of ₹443.11 crores and are expected to generate 2,427 employment opportunities  across diverse industrial sectors including manufacturing, information technology, and  logistics services.

Major Approvals:

* M/s. ZF Industrial Technology Coimbatore Private Limited will establish a  manufacturing facility at Aspen Park Infra Coimbatore, representing an investment of ₹336.13 crores that will create 250 direct employment opportunities and strengthen the  region's capabilities in advanced manufacturing.

* M/s. Sanmina-SCI India Private Limited has been approved to establish a manufacturing  unit at SIPCOT Hi-Tech SEZ in Oragadam, Sriperumbudur, with an investment of ₹72.72  crores expected to generate 1,350 jobs and further consolidate the manufacturing ecosystem  in the region.

* M/s. Visionet Systems Pvt Ltd will expand its existing operations at ELCOT SEZ in  Vilankurichi, Coimbatore, with an additional investment of ₹11.31 crores that will support  294 new employment opportunities in the service-oriented sector.

The cumulative effect of these approvals positions the region as a multi-sectoral hub capable  of supporting integrated industrial ecosystems. These projects are poised to generate  substantial employment opportunities and attract significant investments, while catalyzing downstream economic activity, strengthening supporting infrastructure, and reinforcing the  region’s position as a reliable destination for export-oriented enterprises.
