Establishment of VDVKs in Tribal Areas of Rajasthan

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey informed today in Lok Sabha that the population and percentage of Scheduled Tribes across Udaipur, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Banswara, Sirohi, Salumbar, Rajsamand and Chittorgarh districts of Rajasthan, block-wise is given at Annexure I.
Under Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) a total of 283 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) covering 85,349 beneficiaries have been sanctioned in Udaipur, Salumbar, Dungarpur and Pratapgarh districts of Rajasthan. The beneficiaries are engaged in the value addition, processing and marketing of locally available Minor Forest Produce (MFP) and agricultural produce such as graded wheat, wheat flour, daliya, maize, chana/chana dal, moong dal, urad dal, mango pickle (aam achar), turmeric powder, chilli powder, honey, soyabean products, herbal and amla-based products. State Implementing Agency of Rajasthan has supplied toolkits to the VDVKs and an amount of ₹2253 lakhs (approx.) has been released to the VDVKs for training and toolkits.
