The 80^th Independence Day was celebrated with high enthusiasm across the CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), CSIR Madras Complex (CMC), and the Tower Testing Research Station (TTRS), Thirusulam today. Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director, CSIR-SERC and Coordinating Director, CMC, hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering of scientists, officers, and staff.

  

  

  

In her address, Dr. Anandavalli highlighted CSIR's key contributions to science and technology, calling upon the scientific community to accelerate research, technological innovation, and societal translation toward building an Atmanirbhar Bharat. The celebrations featured the inauguration of a newly constructed RCC compound wall at the TTRS Thirusulam campus to boost security and infrastructure, alongside a tree sapling planting drive. Additionally, prizes were awarded to winners of campus-wide competitions, including an essay contest on the "Role of AI in Building a Viksit Bharat by 2047" and the "Proud Indian – Pride of India" quiz.
