National Senior Citizen Day Celebrated at Regional Office of CCA, Maharashtra & Goa, Nagpur


Welfare-oriented services, pension facilitation, health check-up and cyber security awareness organised for senior citizens

National Senior Citizen Day was celebrated for the first time at the Regional Office of Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Maharashtra & Goa, Nagpur, with the objective of providing welfare-oriented services, awareness and support to pensioners.

The programme was presided over by Dr. Satish Chandra Jha, Controller of Communication Accounts, Maharashtra & Goa. Around 70–80 pensioners from the Nagpur region participated in the programme and expressed their happiness and appreciation for the arrangements and initiatives undertaken by the CCA office. Dr.Satish Chandra Jha emphasized the significance of the occasion as a moment to recognize and appreciate the dedicated service rendered by senior citizens and reaffirmed commitment of CCA Office to provide seamless and hassle-free services to pensioners and their welfare. Further, he enlighten the several initiatives by CCA office including generation of ePPO, DLC camps, timely settlement of pension casess.

As part of the celebration, a Digital Life Certificate (DLC)/Know Your Pensioner (KYP) and Pensioner ID Card Camp was organised to facilitate pension-related services for senior citizens and pensioners. The camp provided an opportunity to pensioners to avail themselves of important services at the Regional Office in a convenient manner.
A health check-up camp was also organised for pensioners, in which doctors from Shri Bhawani Hospital conducted health check-ups and provided necessary medical guidance to the participating senior citizens.

An awareness session on financial literacy and cyber security was conducted by Smt.Shraddha Dhomne, Cyber Technical Member, Police Department, Shri Shivkumar AD from Telecom Department & Shri Ravi Nikalje PRI(P) from Postal Department. The session focused on creating awareness among senior citizens regarding safe digital practices, cyber frauds and precautions to be taken while using digital financial services.

The programme also included a tree plantation drive, in which dignitaries and pensioners participated, conveying a message of environmental responsibility and active participation of senior citizens in community-oriented initiatives.The enthusiastic participation of senior citizens and their appreciation of the services and arrangements at the programme made the inaugural celebration at the Regional Office, Nagpur, a meaningful and successful initiative.
