The Office of Joint Controller of Communication Accounts (Joint CCA), Department of Telecommunications, NE – II Telecom Circle along with the rest of the Nation celebrated National Senior Citizens Day 2026 under the theme “Ageing with Dignity”.

The proceedings commenced with a warm welcome address by Sri Chandan Kumar Nath, Sr. AO (Pension). The programme witnessed active participation of senior citizens and pensioners, who shared their experiences and insights through voluntary speeches. As part of the event, awareness sessions were organised on digital safety and various digital services available to pensioners.

A special session on Cyber Security Awareness and brief on Sanchar Saathi App was conducted by Sri Tarak Nath Das, DDG (SC), NELSA Nagaland & Sri Ajeeth Kumar Ram, ADET O/o DDG (SC), NELSA Nagaland focusing on safe digital practices and precautionary measures to protect elderly users from potential online fraud and other cyber risks. Awareness on digital various avenues available to Pensioners like Jeevan Pramaan App, SAMPANN App, CPENGRAMS was conducted by Sri Kishur Kumar Hazarika, AAO. The pensioners appreciated the initiative and highlighted the usefulness of such awareness programmes in facilitating secure and convenient access to digital services.

The senior-most DoT/BSNL pensioner in Nagaland, Sri M. Budhi Singh, was felicitated at his residence by the staff of the O/o Joint CCA, NE-II, as he was unable to attend the programme due to old age. The staff took the initiative to visit his home and honour him in recognition of his long years of dedicated service and contribution to the Department. Also, the senior-most pensioner present at the function Sri Ngohovi Sema was felicitated in recognition of his long years of service and contribution.

The event concluded with interactive activities upholding the commitment to the welfare, dignity, security, and well-being of senior citizens and Vote of Thanks by Sri Vikehiel Khazo, Sr. AO. All the staff O/o Joint CCA, NE -II Circle took part in the event.
