IIT Madras Global Research Foundation (IITM Global), in partnership with media-integrated startup platform Ideabaaz, has launched 'Bharat Ascend'—a national innovation mission designed to discover and scale entrepreneurial talent beyond traditional metropolitan hubs. Congratulating the initiative during its Delhi launch, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Union Minister of State (IC) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and MoS for Education, emphasized that empowering non-metro youth turns local talent into national strength.

  

Aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, highlighted that the platform democratizes opportunities to build a true "Product Nation." Over 365 days, the initiative aims to discover 100 high-potential ideas from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, guiding them through a five-stage pathway: Discover, Nurture, Accelerate, Empower, and Impact. The mission targets providing structured mentoring to 50 innovations, developing 25 functional prototypes, enabling 15 real-world pilots, preparing 10 ventures for investment, and connecting at least 5 start-ups with international markets. By bridging discovery, technical, and capital gaps, Bharat Ascend ensures local ingenuity translates into globally competitive enterprises across sectors like healthcare, agriculture, mobility, and emerging technologies.
