The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), under the Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, organised a BHASHINI शिल्पी session today at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu. The session brought together developers, technology practitioners and innovators from Nepal to explore the possibilities of building with Language AI.

Designed as an engaging and interactive platform for developers, students and innovators, BHASHINI शिल्पी goes beyond a conventional technology session to create a space where participants can learn, experiment, solve and build with Language AI. The session brings together ideas and technology, taking participants through the journey of developing, solving, scaling and innovating with BHASHINI, while encouraging them to explore real-world challenges, exchange ideas and discover new possibilities for creating inclusive, multilingual digital solutions. By putting participants at the centre of the conversation, BHASHINI शिल्पी aims to foster a growing community of builders who can use language technology to create solutions that are relevant to people, languages and communities.

The session featured live demonstrations, practical discussions and an open Question and Answer session, giving participants an opportunity to interact directly with the BHASHINI team, ask questions, clarify queries and explore possibilities for developing solutions with BHASHINI. Participants were introduced to BHASHINI APIs and developer resources and taken through the journey of Develop with BHASHINI, Solve with BHASHINI, Scale with BHASHINI and Innovate with BHASHINI, exploring how to get started, address challenges, take solutions from early ideas towards scale, and apply Language AI to real-world problem statements and use cases. A key highlight was the interactive “Innovate with BHASHINI” segment, where participants shared ideas and explored how BHASHINI could help turn problems into prototypes and scalable solutions.

Shri Amitabh Nag, CEO, Digital India BHASHINI Division, said:

"Language AI becomes truly meaningful when people can build with it to solve problems that matter. BHASHINI शिल्पी is about bringing developers, students and innovators into that journey, giving them the opportunity to experiment, ask questions, exchange ideas and turn real-world challenges into solutions. Our collaboration with Nepal is about building this ecosystem together and creating technology that works across languages and communities."

The enthusiastic participation, questions and open exchange of ideas reflected the growing interest among Nepal's technology and innovation community in leveraging Language AI to address diverse linguistic needs.

BHASHINI शिल्पी further strengthens the India-Nepal collaboration in language technology by creating opportunities for developers, academia and innovators to learn from each other, exchange ideas and co-create solutions for a more inclusive digital future.

The session captured the spirit of BHASHINI शिल्पी: not just showcasing what Language AI can do, but creating a space to ask questions, solve problems, share ideas and discover what we can build together.
