Swachhata Pakhwada-2026 commenced in the Department of Fertilizers, Government of India, with a message from the Hon’ble Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri J. P. Nadda. In his message, the Hon’ble Minister described Swachhata Pakhwada as an important nationwide initiative towards building a clean, green and sustainable India.
In his message, the Hon’ble Minister said, “Swachhata Pakhwada is a nationwide initiative that reflects our vision of a clean, green and sustainable India and strengthens our collective commitment to maintaining clean and healthy workplaces and surrounding environments, in line with the objectives of Swachh Bharat.”

He called upon all officers and employees to actively participate in the cleanliness campaign and contribute towards making its observance successful and meaningful. He also extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of Swachhata Pakhwada-2026.
Following the Hon’ble Minister’s message, officials and employees of the Department of Fertilizers took the Swachhata Pledge under the leadership of Shri Rajat Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, Government of India.
On the occasion, the Secretary called upon all officers and employees to extend active cooperation towards the cleanliness initiative. He stated that cleanliness is not merely a campaign but a moral responsibility and it is the responsibility of every individual to uphold it. He urged everyone to maintain cleanliness at their workplace and in the surrounding environment and to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily work culture.

The officials and employees of the Department participated enthusiastically in the Swachhata Pledge programme and resolved to discharge their responsibilities towards cleanliness with sincerity and dedication. They also expressed their commitment to creating a clean and healthy office environment, enhancing awareness about cleanliness and keeping their workplaces neat and clean.

The Department of Fertilizers is observing Swachhata Pakhwada-2026 from 1st to 15th September 2026. During the Pakhwada, various activities are being organised to promote cleanliness, environmental protection, digital cleanliness and a clean work culture.
