Ministry of Coal Holds Preparatory Meeting for Special Campaign 6.0, Reaffirms Commitment to Cleanliness and Efficiency

The Ministry of Coal held a preparatory meeting for Special Campaign 6.0, chaired by Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal, with the participation of Nodal Officers from Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, NLC India Limited (NLCIL), Coal Controller’s Organisation (CCO), and Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO).

The meeting provided an overview of the upcoming campaign, followed by a detailed presentation outlining its key objectives, focus areas and implementation strategy. The officials were also briefed on the achievements and best practices adopted by the Ministry of Coal during Special Campaign 5.0. The Nodal Officers were sensitized to the various activities and priorities envisaged under Special Campaign 6.0.

The key focus areas of Special Campaign 6.0 will include effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste; enhancement of office spaces; adoption of modern cleaning practices; efficient disposal of scrap; optimal utilization of office space; promotion of digitalization and eco-friendly practices; conversion of waste into wealth; fostering inclusivity; adopting citizen-centric approaches; and strengthening institutional protocols and mechanisms.

As per DARPG’s Assessment Report of Special Campaign 5.0, Ministry of Coal secured the top rank in terms of space freed and third rank in revenue earned. The successful implementation of Special Campaign 5.0 reflects the Ministry of Coal’s continued commitment to cleanliness, environmental sustainability and efficient resource management. The achievements of the previous campaign provide a strong foundation for the successful and impactful implementation of Special Campaign 6.0.

The preparatory meeting reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to achieving the objectives of the campaign and ensuring a tangible impact on cleanliness, workplace efficiency, timely disposal of pending matters and overall administrative effectiveness. The Ministry of Coal will continue to accord priority to these initiatives, with a sustained focus on enhancing operational efficiency and creating a cleaner, greener, more efficient and well-organized work environment.
