Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) celebrated Teachers’ Day at its campus today, bringing together students, faculty members, and distinguished former professors to honor the vital role of educators in shaping healthcare professionals.

The event was attended by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Piyush Gupta, ICMR-Dr. A. S. Paintal Distinguished Scientist Chair and former Principal of UCMS, New Delhi, alongside Dr. Vir Singh Negi, Director, JIPMER, Deans, the Medical Superintendent, and senior faculty. As part of the program, former teachers were felicitated for their contributions to JIPMER’s academic legacy, while students and leadership shared addresses on mentorship in medical training.

  

 

In his address, Dr. Vir Singh Negi highlighted that premier institutions are sustained primarily through dedicated educators who inspire curiosity and professional standards. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Piyush Gupta emphasized the evolving role of medical teachers in adapting to changing healthcare technologies and knowledge. To mark the occasion, dignitaries and faculty planted saplings across the campus to symbolize growth and continuous mentorship.
