Lucknow, September 10, 2026: Building on the momentum generated across five regional editions in Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru, leading voices from government, industry and the renewable energy sector gathered today in Lucknow for the sixth in a series of regional roadshows for the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRE Summit) 2026, India's largest renewable energy summit and expo. The Lucknow edition brought a distinct regional dimension to the outreach series, convening representatives from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar in a single forum and placing North India's growing stake in the country's clean energy transition firmly at the centre of the conversation.
The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 will be held alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH), from 2-5 November 2026, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, industry, investors and innovators on a common platform.
The Lucknow roadshow, hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), opened with introductory remarks by Shri Ramakrishna Satluri, CEO, Shakti Pumps and National Governing Council Member, NSEFI. 
Shri AK Sharma, Hon'ble Minister of Energy, Government of Uttar Pradesh, who was the Chief Guest for the event, in his address said “Uttar Pradesh is committed to playing a leading role in India’s clean energy transition by accelerating renewable energy deployment and creating a conducive ecosystem for investment, innovation and industry participation. The BRE Summit 2026 offers an important national and global platform for Uttar Pradesh to showcase its growing clean energy opportunities, connect with investors and technology partners, and strengthen collaboration across the renewable energy value chain. I invite industry, investors and clean energy stakeholders from across India and the world to participate in the Summit and partner with Uttar Pradesh in building a cleaner and more sustainable energy future”. 
He further appreciated the overwhelming participation witnessed at the Lucknow Roadshow, reflecting the scale at which the event was organized in the capital city.
In his address, Dr. Ashish Kumar Goel, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy, Government of Uttar Pradesh, said “Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a significant force in India’s renewable energy landscape, supported by a progressive policy framework spanning solar, bioenergy, green hydrogen and electric mobility. With robust transmission infrastructure, ongoing expansion of the Green Energy Corridor and planned capacity to facilitate large-scale renewable and pumped storage projects, the State is well positioned to support the next phase of clean energy growth. We welcome investors, industry and technology partners to explore the opportunities emerging across Uttar Pradesh and look forward to bringing the state's industry, research institutions and government stakeholders to BRE Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The Summit will provide an important platform to strengthen partnerships, attract investment and advance India’s journey towards energy self-reliance”. 
Uttar Pradesh showcased its clean energy leadership at the Lucknow event. With an installed renewable energy capacity of 8,906 MW as of 31 July 2026, anchored by 6,024 MW of solar, the State's clean energy trajectory reflects both scale and momentum. Uttarakhand and Bihar, represented at

the roadshow, added further regional depth to the conversation. Uttarakhand's installed RE capacity is built substantially on its rich hydropower base, while Bihar, at an earlier stage of its renewable energy transition, represents significant untapped potential, particularly in solar and biomass. Together, the three States signal the breadth of North India's stake in the clean energy future that BRE Summit 2026 is designed to advance.
Shri Anupam Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, said “India's clean energy transition is a shared responsibility. The government will provide the policy framework, industry will bring investment, technology and innovation, and financial institutions will provide the scale needed. Together, we have to build this ecosystem and determine India's clean energy future.”
The roadshow featured a comprehensive programme designed to build stakeholder engagement and articulate the strategic blueprint of BRE Summit 2026. Proceedings included the screening of two curated films, India's Renewable Energy Journey and BRE Summit & Expo 2026, capturing the nation's clean energy transition and presenting the full scale of the upcoming summit in New Delhi. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, presented the strategic objectives, core themes and proposed participation framework for BRE Summit 2026, outlining opportunities across renewable energy generation, manufacturing, green hydrogen, energy storage and international partnerships for both domestic and global stakeholders. 
Shri Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, CEO, NSEFI, presented an overview of India's renewable energy growth and success story. 
Shri Vishal Raj, MD, Power Generation Corporation, Government of Bihar, said “Bihar’s power sector is undergoing a significant transformation, with our Discoms now among the top-rated and completely profit-making. Rising electricity demand and consumption point to immense growth potential. We are expanding our focus on renewable energy and storage, including solar, battery storage and around 8,400 MW of pumped storage opportunities. With supportive investment policies and around Rs 1.38 lakh crore of planned investment over the next five years, Bihar offers compelling opportunities for investors. I invite investors and stakeholders to partner with us in this next phase of growth”. 
Concluding the formal proceedings, Shri Gaurav Kedia, Indian Biogas Association (IBA), delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Roadshow Series and Nationwide Outreach
The Lucknow edition marks the sixth in a nationwide outreach campaign designed to mobilise regional momentum ahead of November. Following regional editions in Jaipur on 24 August, Mumbai on 27 August, Hyderabad on 31 August, Ahmedabad on 3 September and Bengaluru on 8 September.
