Madurai International Airport has launched a nationwide campaign titled "Yatri Seva Abhiyan 2026," running for 21 days from September 17, 2026. Organized under the auspices of the Airports Authority of India, the initiative focuses on enhancing passenger facilitation, service quality, cleanliness, and operational courtesy under the themes of "Seva Sankalp" and "Service with a Smile."

The campaign was formally inaugurated on September 17 by the Airport Director, Madurai International Airport, with the ceremonial lighting of the Kuthuvilakku alongside airport stakeholders, staff, and passengers, followed by a recital of the National Song, Vande Mataram, inside the terminal building.

The initial phase centered on operational cleanliness and passenger engagement. Day two focused on the "Clean & Welcoming Landside" drive, featuring joint terminal inspections led by the Airport Director to audit key passenger movement zones and oversee the complete sanitization of airport waste facilities. As part of the pan-India initiative, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation is scheduled to visit various participating airports to inspect passenger-centric facilities and measurable outcomes.
