Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, is organizing a Regional Workshop under the DISHA (Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice) 2.0 Scheme on 21st September 2026 from 10:30 a.m. onwards at University Auditorium, India International University of Legal Education & Research (IIULER) in Goa. The workshop is being organized as part of the Department’s continued efforts to strengthen access to Justice through technology-enabled legal services, legal awareness initiatives, and promotion of pro bono legal assistance across the country.

The programme is expected to be graced by the Governor of Goa as the Chief Guest, along with the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice, Government of India, and the Minister for PWD, Captain of Ports & Legal Metrology, Government of Goa. The event will bring together representatives from the Central and State Government, Common Service Centres (CSCs), Ministry of Rural Development, law institutions of the State and other stakeholders working towards ensuring accessible and inclusive justice delivery.

A key highlight of the event will be the showcase of the best reels created under the “Nyaya Prabodh: Awakening to Justice” campaign – Know Your Rights in 90 Seconds, followed by the launch of a Slogan Competition under Nyaya Prabodh. The initiative aims to deepen citizens’ understanding of their constitutional and legal rights, promote legal literacy, and foster greater public engagement and participation in the Justice delivery ecosystem.

The workshop will also feature the screening of a documentary showcasing the achievements of DISHA 2.0 in Goa, followed by live interactions with Tele-Law beneficiaries, Panel Lawyers, Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), and Nyaya Sahayaks. These interactions will demonstrate how technology-enabled legal services are helping bridge the gap between citizens and justice institutions, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

Another important segment of the programme will be an interaction with students and faculty members of law schools associated with the Nyaya Bandhu Pro Bono Legal Services Programme in Goa. The session will highlight the role of legal academia and young legal professionals in advancing the culture of pro bono legal service and strengthening access to Justice.

The eminent dignitaries will address the gathering on the significance of legal empowerment, citizen-centric Justice delivery and collaborative efforts required to achieve the constitutional vision of equal access to justice. The programme will conclude with a vote of thanks and interactions among stakeholders.

The event reflects the Government of India’s commitment to ensuring that Justice is not merely a legal entitlement but a service that is accessible, understandable, affordable, and available to every citizen. Through initiatives such as Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programmes, and VIDHI-Sanjeevani, the Department of Justice continues to advance the constitutional mandate of ensuring equal access to Justice for all.
