The 'Swachhata Hi Seva Fortnight – 2026' is being observed from September 17, 2026, to October 2, 2026, by the Enterprise Survey Unit, Ahmedabad—operating under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation—in accordance with the initiative of the nodal departments of the Government of India: the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (Ministry of Jal Shakti) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The objective of observing this fortnight is to foster large-scale citizen participation and a sense of ownership regarding cleanliness, while strengthening volunteerism and collective action for a clean India. Under this initiative, the Enterprise Survey Unit, Ahmedabad, is organizing various activities during the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' (Cleanliness is Service) fortnight.

As part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight’s outreach activities, officials and staff from the Enterprise Survey Unit, Ahmedabad—led by Joint Director Shri Sujit Bapurav Pujari—conducted a session on Solid Waste Management (SWM) rules (2026) at the nearby Shri Krishnakant Vidyalaya on September 21, 2026.

Students from Classes VI to XII at Shri Krishnakant Vidyalaya were sensitized to the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026, by a team from the Solid Waste Management Department—invited by the Enterprise Survey Unit (Ahmedabad) of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's West Zone—using very simple language and a child-friendly approach.

The team not only displayed excellent banners regarding cleanliness to the students but also provided in-depth guidance on solid waste management to the school's teachers and students, offering a live demonstration of waste segregation using four different types of dustbins for various categories of waste.

Additionally, employees from the Enterprise Survey Unit, Ahmedabad, delivered presentations on e-waste management, rainwater harvesting, and effective water management in the presence of the school principal.

Smt. Hemangini B. Jajal, Assistant Director of the Enterprise Survey Unit, Ahmedabad, delivered the concluding address, thanking all participants of the event held at the Shri Krishnakant Vidyalaya campus; she expressed hope that the event would foster greater awareness regarding cleanliness and a heightened sense of collective responsibility towards it among the students.
