As part of Rajbhasha Pakhwada-2026, a Hindi Workshop and Hindi Book Exhibition was organized at the Sub-Regional Office, Gurugram, on September 22, 2026. Shri Hariom Prakash, Office Head, and Shri Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Director (Official Language), attended the programme as the Office Head and Chief Guest-cum-Speaker, respectively.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Hariom Prakash emphasized the need for greater use of Hindi in official work. He stated that the use of Rajbhasha Hindi should become a natural part of day-to-day official functioning. He also encouraged employees to use simple, clear and effective Hindi in their official work and to develop a habit of reading Hindi literature.

During the workshop, Shri Rajesh Sharma provided practical guidance on official Hindi, noting and drafting, and various aspects of conducting official work in Hindi. He also highlighted the importance of using simple and standard Hindi in official communication.

As part of the initiative to promote interest in Hindi literature among employees, copies of Munshi Premchand’s celebrated novel Godaan were distributed to the workshop participants. The initiative aimed to encourage employees to engage with Hindi literature and develop a regular reading habit.

A Hindi Book Exhibition was also organized on the occasion. The exhibition showcased a variety of books covering Hindi literature, stories, novels, poetry, knowledge and science, personality development and contemporary subjects. Employees actively visited the exhibition and showed interest in the books on display. The exhibition aimed to promote a reading culture in the office and familiarize employees with the diverse genres of Hindi literature.

At the conclusion of the programme, Dr. Sweety Yadav, Assistant Director (Official Language), delivered the vote of thanks. She expressed her gratitude to the Chief Guest and Speaker, the Office Head, and all participating officers and employees for their valuable presence and cooperation in making the programme successful.

The Hindi Workshop and Book Exhibition provided an effective platform for promoting the use of Hindi in official work while encouraging greater interest in Hindi literature and reading among employees.
